Wholesale Virgin Hair Wefts: What New Vendors Should Know

Wholesale Virgin Hair Wefts: What New Vendors Should Know

Wholesale virgin hair wefts are bundles of unprocessed human hair stitched onto a track and sold to salons, vendors, and resellers. New vendors should focus first on cuticle quality, bundle weight, MOQ, lead time, and return rules instead of just chasing the cheapest bundle. Here’s what actually matters, based on what we see in our warehouse and on factory calls.

What’s the difference between virgin, Remy, and raw hair?

Virgin hair has not been permed, dyed, bleached, or coated before becoming a weft. Remy means cuticles face one direction to reduce tangling, but Remy can still be processed. “Raw hair” usually means lightly processed hair, but it is not a regulated grade. Ask if the texture is natural donor hair or created with steam or chemicals. That tells you how it will lift, curl, and survive repeated washes.

How many bundles do I need for a full sew-in?

Most wholesale bundles weigh 95 to 115 grams; 100 grams is the common standard. A full sew-in usually takes three bundles at 12 to 16 inches and four at 18 to 26 inches. Very full or extra-long styles may need four to five bundles. When comparing weft hair, ask if the listed weight includes the track and if curly lengths are measured pulled straight.

What MOQ is normal for wholesale virgin hair wefts?

MOQ is the minimum number of bundles required for wholesale pricing. Suppliers often ask for 10 to 50 pieces, while samples may be one to three bundles at higher cost. Expect $25 to $75 or more per bundle, depending on length, origin, texture, and stock. Very cheap hair may be thin, overly processed, or mixed with short strands. If clients need loose hair, bulk hair for braiding is separate from sew-in wefts.

Run these quality checks on sample wefts

Order samples in your top three textures, then wash, color, heat-style, and brush them like clients will. Cuticle aligned hair means cuticles run root to tip in one direction, so it tangles and sheds less. Inspect the stitching, secure wefts, stray short hairs, and end density. Bleach a small sample if you color; virgin hair should lift more predictably than processed hair. If curly inventory is your launch, our deep wave combo guide covers texture pairing and branding.

What can go wrong with shipping and stock?

Stock wefts often ship in 3 to 7 days; custom or private-label orders can take 2 to 4 weeks. US express freight usually takes 5 to 10 business days after dispatch, not counting customs delays. New vendors often overbuy one long texture instead of balancing 14-, 18-, and 22-inch stock. Label every bag by length and texture when the carton arrives. Check our FAQ page for terms, and confirm production plus transit time in writing.

Is virgin hair automatically ethically sourced?

No, virgin only means unprocessed. Ask how donors are recruited and whether factories allow audits. A supplier who cannot explain basic sourcing is a red flag.

Can I private label wefts on my first order?

Sometimes, but tags and packaging usually raise the MOQ to 50 or 100 bundles and add lead time. Test plain stock first. Add branding once you know which textures reorder.

Order samples of two or three textures, wash them, and compare hand feel before a larger run. When you’re ready, send us your length mix and target launch date.
